Availability of Service

Q:  Is Water and/or Sewer service provided by White House Utility District available in my area?

A:  Depending on your needs, two service options are available from which to choose:

1.  Availability of Water and/or Sewer Fee

If you need a letter from White House Utility District stating whether or not water and/or sewer service is available for a specific piece of property, you may submit a letter of request for availability and a check for $50.00 made payable to White House Utility District.

In order to determine the availability of water and/or sewer service, the letter should include the following information:

1.      Name, address, and telephone number(s) of contact person

2.      Location of the property; map and parcel number(s)

3.      Area of the property in acres

4.      Proposed use of property

5.      Projected type of development (residential, commercial, etc.) and number of units

6.      Estimate of the time frame when development construction will begin and when service is desired

7.      Fire protection flow requirements (gallons per minute required for sprinkler system, need fire hydrants installed, etc.)

The letter along with the $50.00 check should be sent to:

                                    Mr. Pat Harrell, P.E.

                                    White House Utility District

                                    P.O. Box 608

                                    White House, TN 37188

Depending on the complexity of your request, we will send our response between 5-25 business days following receipt by WHUD.  Please keep this in mind when trying to ensure that you meet your own project timelines.  The response will include our determination of the adequacy of our existing facilities to serve the proposed development.

2.  Facilities Improvement Determination Study Fee

Should adequate facilities not exist to accommodate the development, a determination can be made of the required upgrades you would be responsible for installing in order to support your development.  If you wish to have this study conducted, you may submit a request in writing along with a $1,000 check made payable to White House Utility District.  The request needs to include the same seven pieces of information detailed above and be mailed to the address listed above.  We will send our response within two calendar months following the receipt of the request.
