Providing customers with plentiful, high quality, and safe water is our greatest achievement and responsibility. We recognize the role that water plays in your life and in the health and vitality of our community. We have numerous programs in place to make sure our 1,200 miles of water pipes, 21 water storage facilities and other essential system elements are in top working order around the clock.
In peak summer months, we provide roughly 14 million gallons of water per day, to homes and businesses throughout a four-county region. Our state-of-the-art membrane filtration plant provides technology used by only two percent of the utilities in Tennessee. The plant is often used as a showcase for industry professionals seeking ways to bring the best and most effective technologies to their customers.
Our water treatment plant is currently capable of processing up to 20 million gallons of clean drinking water per day, which is drawn from Old Hickory Lake in Hendersonville, Tennessee. For detailed information about the high quality of WHUD drinking water, please see our annual Consumer Confidence Report.
